Former Florida Lawmaker Who Penned Don't Say Gay Sentenced to Prison over COVID Fraud

Former Florida Lawmaker Who Penned Don't Say Gay Sentenced to Prison over COVID Fraud d

Joseph Harding, 36, will serve 4 months in Federal prison followed by 2 years of supervised release.

His attorney claims his loans were repaid prior to litigation.

"Joe cooperated completely and did everything he could to make things right," Lauro said. "These events were, needless to say unfortunate, but Joe is focused on rebuilding his life and his career, and moving forward."

Here's more. It gets into a lot more about COVID loans and how they were used.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”

Florida Man Allegedly Fired From Job For Being Gay, Ryan Field Books

Florida Man Allegedly Fired From Job For Being Gay d

Justin Olmo spoke about being fired from a restaurant on TikTok.

It allegedly happened at a small family restaurant in New Port Richey, FL, in a place called Sioux City Steak House.

And they way he claims he was fired is astounding. After he invited his boyfriend to meet him there, later, after ignoring his phone calls for days, they told him, "I'm sorry we're just not that kind of establishment."

“They’re also saying that I set up a GoFundMe. I haven’t set up a GoFundMe, and I don’t want anyone’s money,” he said.

Here's more.   You can watch both videos and there's been a great deal of online activity. Olmo says he just wants to move on and find a better place to work, with better people.

So far,  I see no comment from the restaurant.

Gay Slur in Big Brother Reviewing Incident, Ryan Field Books

Gay Slur in Big Brother Reviewing Incident d

Housemate Kerry reportingly use a gay slur and it is being investigated right now. For years Big Brother has been known for homophobia so it's not really all that shocking.

She allegedly did this after housemates pranked her.

Expressing her anger at the situation, she complained to her co-stars and exclaimed: 'Well, this is gay.'

Here's mine.  These slurs are so common everywhere I wonder if they'll ever go away.

Suzanne Somers Passes, When Gay Was treated as a Joke in Three's Company, Ryan Field Books

Suzanne Somers Passes, When Gay Was treated as a Joke in Three's Company d

First, RIP Suzanne Somers. She was a tremendous actress, comedian, and business women with a long successful career. And she did it all on her own.

Through no fault of her own, in 1977 she starred in a sitcom called Three's Company where one member in the cast pretended to be "homosexual" so he could live with 3 straight women and share the rent. This sort of thing was common back then. And when he played gay on the sitcom he used every stereotype there is  and the straight audience loved it. Except for some gay men. I never watched the show for this reason.

But it had nothing to do with Suzanne Somers or the work she did during her lifetime. She was a true warrior and lived with breast cancer for two decades.

"Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family," Hay said in a statement. "Her family was gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th. Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly."

Here's more.

Right Wing Election Losses in Poland, Ryan Field Books

Right Wing Election Losses in Poland d

LGBTQ People are celebrating right wing election losses in Poland right now. It sounds as though they are hoping for more progressive LGBTQ rights.

Bart Staszewski who is an LGBTQ advocate thinks this will put an end to the right wing political games.

“After eight years of horrible right-wing government that was targeting the LGBT minority like never before, now we wake up to this [reality],” Staszewski says.

Here's more.

Gay Targets in Uganda Crackdown Hard on LGBTQ Rights, Ryan Field Books

Gay Targets in Uganda Crackdown Hard on LGBTQ Rights d

Right now the most stringent laws targeting LGBT are happening in Uganda. People are seeking to gain refuge and instead become victimized.

A guy named Henry who doesn't want to use his real name is speaking out.

"Somebody has just called me that they need shelter. He has been evicted, and he's on his way," Henry told ABC News foreign correspondent James Longman.

Here's the rest.

The law in Uganda for being gay is called: aggravated homosexuality. Since speaking to a major news outlet, Henry's the police have shut down, raided, and victimized Henry's clinic. And they had arrested and release Henry.

In short, it's not getting better in Africa for gay people.

Trans People in Red States Fear for Next Generation, Ryan Field Books

Trans People in Red States Fear for Next Generation d

I'm not totally sure how this will turn out. If history repeats itself the next generation of trans people should have it easier than this generation. That's how it has worked with gay people in the past. People like Tony and I have it much easier than many of our older gay friends.

With that said, Trans people in this generation are still worried about how the next generation will have it because things are so vicious and hateful out there for trans people.

Ashley Swartz claims that growing up trans in Nebraska was not easy and that she always felt suffocated. I felt that way growing up gay in New Jersey, so it's not just about trans people here. I think all trans people and gay people felt that way in the past.

“I gave up my childhood for boyhood,” she said.

Here's more. Even though I don't fully understand that in a literal sense, I gave up just as much growing up gay and in the closet. I think what she's saying is that trans people right now do not have it easy in red states where Christians rule. But then gain, gay people are being called groomers.

They get into more stories about trans people and what happens to them during the most critical stages in their lives. And hopefully, things will get better for the next generation of trans people. I can't predict much, but I do predict we'll be seeing more trans people coming out with this next generation.
