I'm not totally sure how this will turn out. If history repeats itself the next generation of trans people should have it easier than this generation. That's how it has worked with gay people in the past. People like Tony and I have it much easier than many of our older gay friends.

With that said, Trans people in this generation are still worried about how the next generation will have it because things are so vicious and hateful out there for trans people.

Ashley Swartz claims that growing up trans in Nebraska was not easy and that she always felt suffocated. I felt that way growing up gay in New Jersey, so it's not just about trans people here. I think all trans people and gay people felt that way in the past.

“I gave up my childhood for boyhood,” she said.

Here's more. Even though I don't fully understand that in a literal sense, I gave up just as much growing up gay and in the closet. I think what she's saying is that trans people right now do not have it easy in red states where Christians rule. But then gain, gay people are being called groomers.

They get into more stories about trans people and what happens to them during the most critical stages in their lives. And hopefully, things will get better for the next generation of trans people. I can't predict much, but I do predict we'll be seeing more trans people coming out with this next generation.
