Same Sex Practices Decriminalized in Mauritius Supreme Court D
This is being touted a landmark decision on the African Island of Mauritius. It's the turning around of a law that dates back to British Rule.
The law criminalizing same sex relations was declared unconstitutional in a decision handed down last Wednesday.
You can read more about it, here.
This ruling sets forth a precedent for other gay men, for now and in the future. The executive officer, Pliny Soocoormanee, of a British LGBTQ+ rights group said this:
"Mauritius may be small but the message this sends to the world is huge. Criminalization in every country belongs in the past. As a gay Mauritian, this day will live with me forever."
“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
