Bar Patron Assaults Employee at Jersey City Bar, Ryan Field

Bar Patron Assaults Employee at Jersey City Bar D

A gay bar named Pint that's been in Jersey City for many years was assaulted with anti-gay slurs. Get this, the man in question allegedly asked them why there was a rainbow flag and when he found out it was a gay bar he flew into a DeSantis rage and started scream all kinds of pejoratives about gay men, including the one where we want to target children.

I don't want to digress but in all my life I never thought I would see the day they would think gay men are targeting children. I don't even like children.

In any event, the guy took off before police arrived, but someone from Pint got a good photo of the guy and posted everything on social media.

One one of the Jersey City Councilmen made a very positive statement, too. On video.

Thanks to those like Mr. DeSantis and other good Christians I haven't seen assaults against our community like this in many, many years.

You can read it all here, plus see the photo of the alleged assailant.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”

It is NOT "Gay" Pride Month It's Just PRIDE MONTH, Ryan Field Books

It is NOT "Gay" Pride Month It's Just PRIDE MONTH d

Of course this article is about deeper content, but I get sick and tired of journalists who know nothing about Pride Month. They constantly refer to it as "Gay" Pride Month and it's not. It is simply "Pride Month." It's not just gay anymore. At least get this one thing right.

In any event, this October, young kids in the Los Angeles school district will learn more about gay and trans identity.

The Human Rights Campaign will offer a glossary or words for LGBTQ+.

such as “cisgender,” “gender binary,” “intersex,” “non-binary,” “sex assigned at birth,” “bisexual,” “gay,” “pansexual,” and “queer.”

Here's more.  I remain neutral on this one.

Florida School District Orders Removal of Gay Books then Backs Off, Ryan Field Books

Florida School District Orders Removal of Gay Books then Backs Off D

By this time I don't think I have to explain Florida's don't say gay law and their hatred or gay content.

Recently, a Florida school district ordered the removal of all gay book in order to comply with Gov. DeSantis's don't day gay laws. The school's superintendent and the board's attorney started a discussion with school librarians about whether or not a good had a gay character but no gay sexual content. This type of thing had been going on for years. In the early 2000s and prior to that books classified as gay were always considered adults only whether it was g rated or x rated. In other words, any gay content was considered x rated.

The district did step back a little by allowing some exceptions of gay content for high school libraries.

You can read more here.

As I sad, back in the day when I first started writing gay content we had two classifications: gay and lesbian. Both were considered adult content just for the time fact that was gay or lesbian content. And sadly, we finally start to get beyond that and then come a Gov. DeSantis who decides to set us back 50 years. This is something that Ronald Reagan would do.

Don't Say Gay Batman Teacher and Schools Clash, Ryan Field Books

Don't Say Gay Batman Teacher and Schools Clash d

If you remember, I posted about a teacher who is an authority on Batman last week. The teacher mentioned elements of gay...nothing sexual...during one of his talks and he was asked to stop using any gay references. The teacher disagreed and quit.

You see, this is what they do, and this always what these straights have done. They quickly associate anything gay as being of a sexual nature. It could be as innocent as two gay men baking cookies, but they turn it into sex.

Leaving no recourse but to totally ban discussions of anything LBTQ related.

The teacher involved gave the lecture in Atlanta, but lives and D.C. and his story is fascinating. He's not only an expert on Batman he's trying to dispel a few myths about Batman as a character and a brand. Information most of us didn't know existed. Sort of a secret author/creator, allegedly.

Here is the rest.  It's worth reading it all, in full.

The View's Sunny Hostin Says Gays Identify by Scent, Ryan Field Books

The View's Sunny Hostin Says Gays Identify by Scent D

First, I have never watched more than one or two clips of The View on X formerly known as Twitter. And when I did it was usually because of something stupid they said. I'm actually surprised they are still on TV after all these years. But they seem to have this knack of saying stupid things to keep people watching.

With that said, Sunny Hostin...don't know who they are...believes that gay people can find one another by scent. She also admitted that like most straights out there she knows very little about gay men. Apparently, she learned all this after binge watching some TV show called Naked Attraction.

"I'm very embarrassed to admit that [my husband] Manny and I got so obsessed with this show that we binged it yesterday, and we watched all eight episodes. I learned things that I never heard in my life," Hostin told her cohosts. "Have you heard of a Prince Albert piercing? I didn't know about that."

Here's more. The problem with all this is I still believe she knows nothing about gay men. Nothing.

National Gay Men's AIDS/HIV Awareness Day, Ryan Field Books

 National Gay Men's AIDS/HIV Awareness Day D

I do not know a single gay man between Palm Springs and Manhattan who is not aware of AIDS or HIV. To this day, we still worry about it and we take more precautions than ever before.

PrEP is a huge factor in AIDS awareness now. It has given gay men more freedom to feel secure about who they are. Almost everyone I know takes it, including family members.

Then there is the fact that most men with HIV are taking HIV drugs that are so sophisticated their HIV status is "undetectable." This means that their HIV doesn't even show up in tests anymore. But more than that, the levels of the virus cannot be passed on to someone else. This is called viral load and you can read more about that here.

In any event, it's National Gay Men's AIDS/HIV Awareness Day and they are calling for more testing and less stigma. There are a few interesting statistics and they mention a few of the things I mentioned above. And I fully understand that this focus is on Washington, D.C. where we have the most HIV cases "per capita."

I just don't think it's fair to lump all other gay men into these things anymore. It mentions nothing about PrEP and seems to fall a little short with regard to some key factors in HIV/AIDS nowadays.

But I could be wrong. You can read it all, here.

And here is something about
Apretude and PrEP.

Turkish President thinks UN Looks like Gay Colors, Ryan Field Books

Turkish President thinks UN Looks like Gay Colors D

The President of Turkey thinks that someone got Pride colors confused with sustainable development goals.

He claims he is uncomfortable with the colors, too.

Of course his roots are in the Islamic AK party and we all know how Islam feels about anything LGBTQ related.

“One of the issues that bothers me the most ... is that when entering the United Nations General Assembly, you see the LGBT colors on steps and other places,” Erdogan was quoted as saying by broadcaster Haberturk and others.

Here's more. I kind of see what he means, but the goal of the 17 sustainable development is to rid the world of hunger, poverty, deal with climate change, and promote equality.
