More on Tyler Childers' New Gay Love Story Video

From now on, whenever I refer to someone "coming out" I will just write that they "came out." I'm not writing they "came out as gay" anymore. If you read about it here, you can just assume they came out as gay. I have nothing against anyone on the LGBTQ Plus spectrum, but my focus is and always has been on gay stories and gay culture. I know how to stay in my own lane, so to speak. And when I think of it, I don't think I have ever posted or linked to a story where someone came out as Asexual or even Transsexual.

With that said, here is another follow up on the gay story about Tyler Childers' new video with Colton Haynes. They are calling it a gay love story. I have seen the video and heard the song and both are wonderful. Here's a link.

Childers sings the lyrics, “Cause it’s cold out there, And you know some men search for ages, For the love that I have found, So I will stand my ground.”

Here's more. Of course it doesn't sound as if it has a happy ending, but that's not unusual. I chose to only write gay romance novels with happy endings years ago when I was first starting out and getting short stories published. I wanted to give gay men and other readers something they hadn't seen before. But the truth is that most gay stories did not have that happily ever after in real life.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”

Iranian Official Promoting Islamic Values Caught with a Man, Ryan Field Books

Iranian Official Promoting Islamic Values Caught with a Man

I think we all know that like most religions in the world, Islam has never been exactly supportive of gay men. In fact, they criminalize us and make us live in fear.

So that's why this article is so interesting. Once again, we find a story where a man promotes certain values that aren't gay...or supportive of gay men...and then a video surfaces where he's allegedly having sex with another man.

This has always bothered me about some of our own politicians here in the US. These closeted gay men who lead double lives will condemn gay men in public and then climb right into bed with them in private.

To show you how serious this is, Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, actually said this.

“The West today is trying to promote the idea of homosexuality and by promoting homosexuality they are trying to end the generation of human beings,” Raisi said.

Here's more. That statement doesn't even make sense. You can't turn a straight man gay just like you can't turn a gay man straight. So straight men will continue to procreate right into the next generation.

So far, the video hasn't been verified.

Tyler Childers' New Video with Colton Haynes and James Scully as Lovers, Ryan Field Books

Tyler Childers' New Video with Colton Haynes and James Scully as Lovers

First, it's nice to see Colton Haynes doing something after not seeing him work for a while. I think actors like Haynes, who can pretty much play any part, are overlooked simply because they are openly gay. Of course I could be wrong about that. But if I am wrong, why are there so many straight actors playing gayface?

In any event, Country music artist, Tyler Childers, just released a music video and it will feature Colton Haynes and James Scully. Two openly gay actors. That's right. Two gay men working in the entertainment industry.

The basic theme focuses on a mountain love story between two men working as minors in the 1950s, trying to settle down and build a life together. It reminds me of my gay romances, Altered Parts. In books one and two that was my focus. The first book was set in the 1940s during WW2.

Colton dropped a message on Insta that said this:

Haynes called the video “easily one of my favorite projects I’ve ever been a part of,” and encouraged viewers to “grab a tissue.”

Here's more.

Bravo to everyone involved with this project. I can't wait to see it. Finally, gay men taking control of their own culture.

33 Gay Men Arrested at Sauna in Venezuela, Ryan Field Books

33 Gay Men Arrested at Sauna in Venezuela

Like most other gay venues of this nature, gay men go there because that's where they can meet other gay men. In places where gay men are criminalized that is the only place where they can meet other gay men. Saunas and bathhouses have always been a large part of gay culture for this reason. Now that a younger generation of gay men have emerged here in the US we don't see things like saunas and bathhouses that much anymore.

Younger gay men hook up online, through dating apps, just like straight people now. Although many are still in the closet, a good deal are out of the closet as well.

However, in some places saunas, bathhouses, and other cruising venues are still a part of gay life for many gay men.

A gay sauna was raided in Venezuela's Carabobo state and there was no search warrant or concern for the rights of 33 gay men. Apparently, there was some kind of sex orgy and it was being filmed.

Here's more. It gets into more about the legalities and how the men were treated.

Japanese Pop Star Comes Out As Gay, Ryan Field Books

Japanese Pop Star Comes Out As Gay

Here's the story of a Japanese pop star who came out as gay so he could help other gay men in the closet avoid the struggles he's faced.

Shinjiro Atae is a well known pop star in Japan who is loved and respected. Many are praising him for what he's done.

And the way he came out was from the heart.

“I respect you and believe you deserve to hear this directly from me,” he said, reading from a letter he had prepared. “For years, I struggled to accept a part of myself. But now, after all I have been through, I finally have the courage to open up to you about something. I am a gay man.”

Here's more. Apparently, announcements like this are rare in Japan. And activists are saying they cannot remember when a star of his magnitude came out this way. Some are even speculating that he came out in order to help change conservative Japan.

And whatever his reasons are,  bravo to him.

Kevin Spacey Found Not Guilty in Sex Assault Trial, Ryan Field Books

Kevin Spacey Found Not Guilty in Sex Assault Trial

Kevin Spacey was acquitted of all charges thanks to a witness that was part of his own defense.

As the verdict was read, Spacey began to cry. Spacey had gone for six years without work during the infamous #metoomovement when guilty before proven innocent seemed to rule the waves. It was a very interesting time in history, when anyone could be accused of anything and tried on social media. Lives were ruined thanks to those with the loudest mouths in the movement.

“My world exploded,” Spacey testified. “There was a rush to judgment and before the first question was asked or answered I lost my job, I lost my reputation, I lost everything in a matter of days.”

Here's more. Spacey faced 9 charges from accusations that date back to 2001. Apparently, after one man made an accusation, several more came forward with their own accusations. Things just spiraled downhill for Spacey from that point, and the #metoomovement didn't help him.

You can also read a few comments from the prosecution.
