Straight People Less Attracted To Trans People; Gay Uncles Day; Netflix's Insatiable and Gay Jokes

Straight People Less Attracted To Trans People

Update Below

I never totally believe the results of these things. I think there's a lot of room for doubt here.

A study by researchers at Indiana University found that straight people are less attracted to trans people — regardless of how good looking that person is.

Social Psychological and Personality Science. The purpose of the study was to find evidence of transphobia on dating apps.

Here's the rest. Personally, I've seen a few trans guys that I thought were very hot looking.

Gay Uncles Day

Here's something new, for the new and something crowd out there.

It’s Gay Uncles Day on Sunday (12 August) and here’s everything you need to know.
The day started two years ago when Florida resident C.J Hatter took to Facebook to make the suggestion.
Here's the link. I think this is wonderful for those who want to celebrate it, and I really mean that. I understand how some people need these things. But I'll pass, and don't call me "guncle." Tony and I have always had excellent relationships with our nieces and nephews.

Netflix's Insatiable and Gay Jokes

Update: I've been writing blog posts in advance lately, and I did get a chance to binge watch the first 4 episodes of Insatiable after I wrote this post. I love it. As a gay man, I found nothing offensive about it, and I think the humor is clever. And now that I've seen it, I think most of the outrage you're reading is fake outrage.

There's a new show on Netflix, Insatiable, and some people are calling it out for the gay jokes. I haven't seen it so I can't comment.

Insatiable also loves low-hanging humor, with lame sex jokes, gay jokes and body-related jokes being of particular fancy, as evidenced by a string of them built around ‘anal cancer’ references (‘We have to bring anal cancer out of the closet. It’s a silent but deadly killer’), etc.”

Here's more. To be honest, cancer jokes never sound all that funny to me. But I'll have to see this one for myself before I comment.
