What Does LGBTQ Plus Mean? Defining the LGBTQ Plus In Detail From Vanderbilt University
The other night a gay friend of mine on social media was questioning how someone who's not gay can identify as "queer." Several people commented with their thoughts on what "queer" meant, and each person had a slightly different POV.
I started wondering about all this and I realized I'm not totally sure what everything in LGBTQ plus means either, at least not totally sure. So I did a search and I found this list of definitions from Vanderbilt University. As far as I know, they cover all of them. They really do get into it. If there are more feel free to add them in the comments. Here's the one for "queer."

Here's more. So, according to this, "queer" is a generalized word used by "non-heterosexual" people. I tend to trust Vanderbilt University.
