Gay Albuquerque Council Members Say They Were Excluded From Pride Events

I love the city of Albuquerque. When we travel cross country by car Albuquerque is our first stop for the night heading back east, and it's our last stop on the way to Palm Springs. It's roughly 12 hours from downtown Palm Springs, and we drive straight through. I've always felt comfortable there.

With that said, 2 Albuquerque council members are now claiming they were excluded from Pride Events.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller is facing criticism for failing to include two openly gay city councilors at a recent Pride month event.

Here's the link. There aren't many details with this one. But if you ever get the chance, go to Albuquerque. You'll love it.

16 Questionable Gay Tweets This Week

Much like all other social media platforms, Twitter is totally heteronormative. There is a "Gay Twitter" but it's by no means a majority. The straights rule there, and half the time they don't even know when they're being homophobic. When they make jokes about Lindsey Graham being gay (we don't know that he is gay because he never came out...like millions of other gay men of all ages still in the closet) and being a gay bottom, they are spreading more homophobia and shame and the morons don't even realize what they're doing. Twitter is a cesspool for the hetero privilege, and it's not always a gay-friendly website.

With that said, here are 16 Tweets that seem to have resonated with some people. Some are okay, but I find most of them annoying. It's written by an openly gay guy so I'm sure he means no harm.

Gay Twitter is arguably the best part of Twitter. And honestly, we're all in need of some laughs right now so enjoy the best gay tweets of the week:

You can read it all, here. There's actually one that has two animals kissing in the water that says, "Love is Love." WTF is that? They're now comparing us to animals. I know on the surface that might seem amusing, but try doing that with any other marginalized group out there. It will not be received well.

We really need to step it up a little.

"A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he'll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who's husband died last year. I enjoyed this story."
