Designer Richard Nicoll Dies Suddenly; MPs Shout "Shame" Over Turing Bill; Stuffing James Franco's Speedo

Designer Richard Nicoll Dies Suddenly

This was shocking.

Fashion designer Richard Nicoll has died in Sydney at the age of 39.

It is suspected that he suffered a heart attack.

Actor Charles Condou took to Twitter to say he was ‘devastated to hear’ and wrote: ‘He was my first real love; a beautiful man both inside and out. I’ll miss him terribly.’

You can read more here. I always liked his work, and I think he was highly underestimated.

MPs Shout "Shame" Over Turing Bill

I just posted about this bill yesterday, here.

Tens of thousands of gay and bisexual men who were convicted of now-abolished sexual offenses in Britain will be posthumously pardoned, the government announced Thursday.

Unfortunately, this just happened:

A private member’s bill before the UK Parliament has been filibustered by the Government’s Justice Minister, Sam Gyimah – just a day after he proposed a Government-approved alternative.

The legislation, which sought to pardon gay men prosecuted for gross indecency before homosexual activity was decriminalized, was named Turing’s Bill after persecuted math’s genius Alan Turing. It was proposed SNP MP John Nicolson.

Raised for discussion in the House of Commons this afternoon, it could not be voted upon as Gyimah talked for so long.

There's more here. There's also of photo Gyimah. It really is a shame.

Stuffing James Franco's Speedo

Please keep in mind I didn't write this one. I'm only linking to it...and only because Franco has become a fascination of sorts. He doesn't have to do these things, and yet he does them anyway.

James Franco spilled some on-set secrets about his King Cobra co-star Keegan Allen.

‘I’m going to bust him a little bit – Keegan stuffed his speedo,’ Franco said Friday (21 October) during an appearance on NBC’s The Today Show.

In the film, Franco and Allen play lovers who are cash-strapped gay porn producers.

Here's the rest. I'm starting to get curious about King Cobra. And not because of clickbait like this article. In spite of clickbait pieces like this, I watched Franco's movie Goat...my review is here...and wound up liking it a lot more than I thought I would.

Brent Corrigan On King Cobra Movie; Real Life Queer Stories; That Gay Single Life

Brent Corrigan On James Franco's King Cobra Movie

Even though the independent film community has given straight James Franco and his film, King Cobra, "acclaim," I still think it's important to hear comments and thoughts from  a gay perspective. Not an LGBT perspective this time. There's a difference. I'm talking about only the "G" in LGBT. A gay perspective, with respect to gay culture and a gay man's POV. And sometimes that's VERY different from LGBT.

But more than that, since the film was allegedly based on the early years of Brent Corrigan's film career, without his input, his thoughts are even more important.

However, the real Corrigan/Lockhart has lashed out once again at the production, accusing Hollywood of “bastardising my early years in porn”

You can read more of this here, where Corrigan talks about a book he's writing, from his own experience and perspective.

And this is from an earlier article on the same topic.

In a post to Facebook, Corrigan said: “The internet has been a buzz regarding some recent news that a movie is being filmed right now in New York State chronicling the Bryan Kocis murder and the early days of my adult career.
“I was originally approached to be a part of the film as a consultant and the cast. I was asked to play a small part in the film and declined the role.
He added: “Ultimately, I chose to move forward with my own plans to finally release my book in place of taking part in someone else’s presentation of events that I personally lived as a young adult.

You can read that one here.

I can't comment because I have no intention of seeing King Cobra. But I will read Corrigan's book when it's released.

Real Life Queer Stories

I saw this on Twitter recently and thought I would share. It's a web site filled with real life LGBT stories coming from real LGBT people.

I very clearly remember being 13 and being a bit concerned that I might not actually be straight as I had expected to be. I also remember thinking, ‘don’t be stupid, of course you’re not,’ and burying it deep inside where I didn’t deal with it for nearly ten years. Ahhhh, adolescence. Of course I…

You can check this one out here. It's a simple web site that's smooth to navigate. And you would be amazed at how much Twitter opens the world to all people coming from the LGBT community. It's not like Facebook.

That Gay Single Life

Here's a post with more of those memes that have quotes. This time from single gay men. The premise is that it's okay to be single.

I'm a single gay guy and all I want is a husband...until I take a close look at my friends' relationships and I'm all like "ew but not like that."

I actually think some gay men are happier being single and they function better. At least that's what I've seen from personal experience through more than a few good single friends. I would imagine the same goes for straight people.

Here's the rest.

London Gay Couple Denied Adoption; More James Franco and King Cobra; Pornster Pays Big For Photo With Hillary

London Gay Couple Denied Adoption

This is weird because the reason this gay couple was allegedly denied adoption is because they didn't have any toys in the house...among other things as ridiculous. Here's a list:

  • They were asked who would take on the ‘role of the mother’.
  • They were told they had been rejected as they had no toys in the house, even though they had no kids yet.
  • They were asked how many women they have in the family.
  • Despite being an interracial couple, social workers told them they were not ‘ethnically accepting’ enough.
  • They were also told they didn’t know enough about ‘Romanian or Nigerian culture’, despite they were willing to learn about the background of any child.
You can check this out here. It gets a little more complicated with the response from the adoption agency.

*Who would take on the role of mother*

More James Franco and King Cobra

Here's more about the film, King Cobra, that James Franco is heavily involved with.

The film is based on the 2007 murder of gay adult film producer Bryan Kocis who owned Cobra Video. Harlow Raymond Cuadra and Joseph Manuel Kerekes were trying to lure gay porn star Brent Corrigan away from Kocis and were convicted of killing him.
On Tuesday (20 October), Pretty Little Liars star Keegan Allen tweeted from the set a shirtless photo of himself with a shirtless Franco. He will play Cuadra. It’s not clear what, if any, on-screen role Franco has in the film.
No comment. You can read more here. There's also a shirtless photo of Franco and someone else. It is interesting that no one else has commented yet either.

Pornster Pays Big For Photo With Hillary

I didn't know people could pay to have their photo taken with Hillary Clinton. I guess there's no end to what it takes to raise money for a Clinton.

That fan was Gavin Waters, a gay porn star known for his scenes with Colt and Falcon.
According to TMZ, he reportedly paid $1,000 to have a picture with Hillary at a recent fundraiser in Texas.
While some anti-Hillary supporters have attempted to use the picture as a way of attacking her, claiming she will have a photo with ‘anyone’ who’s giving her money (seriously, every politician would do the exact same thing).
Would they? Maybe they would. I don't know.   You can check this out here.
As you can see, Hillary has "evolved" since the days of not too long ago when she wasn't supporting gay people.

James Franco and Straight People Making Gay Films: King Kobra; Nude Locker Room Life; Guys and Their Relationships to Porn

James Franco and Straight People Making Gay Films: King Kobra

Update: Brent Corrigan commented on the film and gave a few thoughts on Facebook with a public announcement. As usual, he did it well.

I don't know how else to title this part of the post. In this case what I did use is clearly not my best clickbait, however, also in this case...it is what it is.

Gay content/dramatization is big this year and some straight people are taking full advantage of it.

The recently announced Christian Slater/Molly Ringwald film King Cobra, though it also plans to dramatize a piece of gay history, will likely offer no such inspiration.

That’s because it will tell the story of gay porn studio Cobra Video owner Bryan Kocis’ murder by two of his stars, Harlow Cuadra and Joseph Kerekes (pictured above right), in 2007. Naturally, James Franco is involved, taking a producing and acting credit.

Naturally.

But there are a few names I haven't heard since God was a proverbial boy... good old Molly Ringwald and Christian Slater.

They have a Disney twink playing the Brent Corrigan part.

Kocis’ involvement and subsequent legal battle with a then-underage Brent Corrigan, aka Sean Lockhart, added an unhealthy dose of scandal to the already-insane story.

You can read the rest here.

I think we'll be hearing more about this and I am curious to know what Brent Corrigan thinks. I follow him on Twitter and he's a very nice, quiet guy who seems to be an avid equestrian. I hope someone interviews him.

Nude Locker Room Life

On a much lighter note, here's a video about how the NFL Network aired a nude locker room scene.

Albert Breer’s NFL Network interview with Adam Jones after the Bengals’ win over Buffalo today was... interesting.

All you really need to know is that the NFL GameDay Live staff couldn’t stop laughing about it afterward. Butts and dicks herein.

I guess if the NFL Network aired this it's SFW. You can check that out here.

Guys and Their Relationships to Porn

I love that Queerty continues to post these meme articles. I think they sum fascinating topics up so well they could be used as exercises in blogging for the more verbose bloggers out there.

This one is about how guys often both embrace and scorn adult entertainment.

Here's one...

I'm gay but I'm really grossed out by gay porn. Does that mean subconsciously I hate myself? Ugh...

Here's another...

As a gay guy I hate that I'm so immune to porn that I have to look for more taboo stuff.

You can read the rest of them here. It's a really good example of how various guys feel about adult entertainment and I would imagine it's basically the same for straight people...men and women.
