If it will help bring attention to something, or help promote a good cause, I see nothing wrong with doing things like this. It's always done in the spirit of good fun, and there are always good intentions. I support it completely.
A group of Belgian rowers recently tweeted that they are launching a campaign called "same sport, different sexuality." They are using hot locker room photos to garner attention. I've posted stories about things like this many times over the last 10 years. They're trying to raise awareness with regard to homophobia in sports. And there is still plenty of homophobia in sports.

A Mom Finds Out on TikTok Her Gay Son Is Going To Get His "Sh#t Wrecked"
I'm fascinated with TikTok by now. Once I tried out the app I wasn't able to stop looking. It's strange, too, because nothing is really all that earth shattering. Maybe it's a weird fascination with the mundane and uninspired? I'm not sure. All I know is that it is absolutely ridiculous, and it can be addictive.
With that said, some of the things I've seen in TikTok have made me wonder. This conversation between a gay kid and his mom is one of them.
There's only one way to find out and that's to watch the video. I just think it's interesting to see a gay kid talk about things like this with his mom. And her reaction is even more interesting.
Here's a direct link to Twitter. And here's a link to the original source. I'm adding the original source because you'll want to check out the comments.
