New Release: Ramon Canyon by Ryan Field; Anti-Gay Marriage Kim Davis Loses Reelection

New Release: Ramon Canyon by Ryan Field

I have a brand new western erotic romance out titled, Ramon Canyon. It's a period story set in the Edwardian era in a small western town that's just beginning to realize the old wild west days are over. It's 1907 and the beginning of a new century, and the characters have no idea how many changes are about to happen.

It's available in Kindle or Paperback, and it's also available in other venues where books are sold online.

Here's the blurb:

Ramon Canyon by [Field, Ryan]When Flynn had to leave Ramon Canyon 10 years earlier at the age of 18, he never thought he would return. He’d been caught in the act on his hands and knees with another cowboy his age by the town’s worst gossip, Sally May Johansson, and he knew he couldn’t remain there. So he set off without looking back, and found other places in the world where he could live his life and build his fortune. But no matter where he went he never stopped thinking about Ramon Canyon, and the young man named Jasper with whom he’d been in love.

Eventually, he wound up in Europe with other like-minded people who understood him, where he amassed a great fortune and educated himself with the finer things in life. He told himself he’d never return to Ramon Canyon again, but then he ran into an old family friend who told him what had happened to his family and the ranch where he’d grown up. And that’s when he knew he had to return for his revenge.

After a 10 year absence, most people thought Flynn was dead. But that didn’t stop him from riding through Ramon Canyon with his head high and his shoulders square. He realized how much he missed Ramon Canyon, and now that he had money, a purpose, and goals he didn’t have to run anymore. The timing was perfect and they needed him as much as he needed to be there. The only thing that was missing was the love of his life, and Flynn wasn’t sure he’d ever figure that out. However, he still had a few unexpected surprises coming his way.

You can check it out here on Amazon.  I will post an excerpt later this week. The heat level is very high with this one.

Anti-Gay Marriage Kim Davis Loses Reelection

They say if you wait long enough karma gets everyone eventually. Well, it finally came to Kim Davis, the woman who made headlines for being to anti-gay marriage.

Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis, who spent several days in jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, lost her bid for reelection.
Davis, who switched to the Republican Party before the election, faced Democrat Elwood Caudill. Caudill won 54% of the approximately 7,800 votes cast in the race.

Hot Guys Wearing I Voted Stickers; Ex Cop and 15 Year Old Boy; Trans Politician Says Gender Was Non-Issue

Hot Guys Wearing I Voted Stickers

When I exited the polls this morning after voting, they asked me if I wanted a sticker and I declined. My first thought was why would I want that? This isn't pre-school. I'm not looking for a gold star because I voted. I don't need anyone's approval or attention when it comes to voting. Apparently, I was in the minority with this one. It became THE trend of the day.

Of course, one of our favorite parts about election day–aside from participating in our democracy, that is–are those cute little “I Voted” stickers they hand out after you’ve cast your ballot. We wear those babies with pride!

Here's the link. There are photos of hot guys with I voted stickers. And a few interesting eyebrows.

Ex Cop and 15 Year Old Boy

Here's another sad, creepy Call Me By Your Name story about an ex cop and a 15 year old boy.

An ex-cop from West Virginia will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life after sending an x-rated photo to a teenage boy who lied about his age on Grindr.

You can check this out, here. The kid did admit to lying about his age. But he's still only barely legal.

Trans Politician Says Gender Was Non-Issue

This is encouraging to read. And it happened in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Some LGBT politicians in the US midterm elections have faced scathing attacks aimed at their sexual orientation. But one trans politician, Kathy Ottersten, appears to be the exception to the rule.

Here's the link.  I've always wanted to go to Alaska.

Frankie Grande Is In A Throuple, In His Gay World; Tanzania Is On LGBTI Witch Hunt; Jamie Clayton Talks About Sense 8

Frankie Grande Is In a Throuple, In His Gay World

If you think this article is bad, you should have seen the first four articles I passed on.

But if you can get beyond all the cheese, it is interesting in a general sense. I've known gay people in long term 3-way relationships. Not 3-ways just for sex. I'm talking about being a "throuple," where there are actually 3 people sharing their lives together. Unfortunately, I've never seen one last either. They always crash and burn. It always winds up where one of the 3 winds up becoming a 3rd wheel and he gets kicked out.

Apparently, Frankie Grande is now in a 3-way relationship with a married couple.

“These are my boyfriends,” he told a reporter at the event, introducing married couple Daniel Sonasohn, attorney at law, and Mike Pophis, a doctor, before quipping: “[It’s been] almost three months, but in the gay world it’s like five years.”

I don't know what gay world he comes from, but in my gay world everyone's been together for more than 5 years. Most longer.

Here's the link

Tanzania Is On LGBTI Witch Hunt

Here's more scary LGBTI news on the global front. It's very serious.

The European Union has recalled its envoy to Tanzania as the country’s commercial hub launches a brutal crackdown on its LGBTI community.
Ambassador Roeland van de Geer had been recalled to Brussels for ‘consultations’, a Monday (5 November) statement said.
Here's more. Many LGBTI people have gone into hiding for fear of what's going on.

Jamie Clayton Talks About Sense 8
I've posted about the Netflix series, Sense 8, many times. I loved it and I was sorry to see it go. The characters were highly diverse and I think there was a lot more that could have been done with them...all of them.
Here's a piece about Jamie Clayton who was a big part of Sense 8
If such thing as a down-to-Earth diva attitude exists, Clayton definitely has it. Charming, grounded and so funny you will want to see her in a comedy show ASAP, the Sense8 actress spilled some insider’s knowledge on the Netflix original series.

Amazon Owner Jeff Bezos Donates 10K To Anti-LGBT Republican; Guys Who Deleted Grindr; What Is A "White Gay?"

Amazon Owner Jeff Bezos Donates 10K To Anti-LGBT Republican

This one is a little difficult to figure out. It's very out of character for Jeff Bezos.

Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos has reportedly donated $10,000 to a notorious anti-LGBTI politician.
Bezos and his wife Mackenzie donated a combined total of $10,800 to Republican Senator Cory Gardner.

Here's where you can read more. It's out of character because Bezos has always supported LGBT issues, at least from what I recall.

Guys Who Deleted Grindr

Of course I've said many times here that I know nothing about Grindr, so this is even more interesting. It's about guys who've deleted Grindr for very specific reasons. Here's one example:

“I found that I was checking the app with almost every spare moment I had. Sometimes I would open the app, check for new messages, close the app, and then open it right back up as if I were on autopilot. And each time I found that I didn’t have any new messages, I felt the slightest bit worse about myself.”

Here's more.

What Is A "White Gay"

Here's something about racism and some gay white men. There's even a definition in Urban Dictionary.

The “Gay best friend” typically portrayed on sitcoms screaming “OH MY GOD GURL YAAAS“. An unbearable cis queen, everything they do or say has to be over-dramatic. A White Gay like a White Feminist, is not exclusively “White” or Homosexual, the only definitive traits are the endless spouting of Tumblr or urban slang and “controversial” propaganda/topics in hopes of getting attention. Most likely a twink, with no conscience of privilege or minority struggles (most likely sexist although they try to act like black women).

The article goes on to give examples of white gay men, with 22 Tweets.

Here's the link. You should read the comments, too. A few of them bring up some excellent points.

Grey's Anatomy Actor Comes Out; Bohemian Rhapsody Movie: Another Brave Straight Actor Playing Gay; London Gay Bar Royal Vauxhall Saved

Grey's Anatomy Actor Comes Out

I never get tired of reading these stories. This is even better than most because this guy is playing a gay character, too.

Jake Borelli, the 27-year-old actor who plays Levi Schmitt on the ABC TV medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, came out as gay Thursday night on Instagram. His coming out post followed an episode of the show in which Schmitt also came out as gay, entering the show’s first-ever male same-sex romance with Dr. Nico Kim (played by Alex Landi).

Here's the entire story. There's a photo. He's adorable. I never watched this show, but I'm going to make a point of watching it now.

Bohemian Rhapsody Movie: Another Brave Straight Actor Playing Gay

This reminds me of the Megyn Kelley kerfuffle recently where she didn't see anything wrong with dressing up for Halloween in blackface. Well, here's yet another story about a straight actor playing gayface. The film is Bohemian Rhapsody, and the actor is Allen Leech from Downton Abbey. Kelly lost her job, and rightly so. This guy will get an Oscar.

No one ever advised me against playing a gay character or any character. If I believe in the role and the character, and I believe I can do it justice, then I want to do that. So I’ve never had any push-back from my team, ever, actually. That’s probably why I still have the same team I have. It’s all about the work.

Here's the link. There are a few interesting comments from readers at the end. I won't be watching this one.

London Gay Bar Royal Vauxhall Saved

Now here's some good news on the global front. This is something regarding gay culture that no straight person, including all straight actors playing gayface, will ever understand. It's a follow up to a story I did a few months about about a gay bar in London that looked as though it might shut down. Apparently, it's going to be around for a lot longer.

Historic London gay bar Royal Vauxhall Tavern has secured its future for the next two decades.
The RVT has signed a 20 year lease with the property company, Immovate.
The new lease replaces the older short term lease. This was due to expire in 2019.

Here's more. It obviously goes into more detail, and it's definitely worth the read.

Two Footballers Get Hot and Heavy; Don Lemon's Comments On Dangerous White Men; $10 Million Funding Toward Pulse Museum In Orlando

Two Footballers Get Hot and Heavy

Yeah. This one's pretty basic.

In Marcel Gisler new film, Mario, prospective pro footballers Leon and Mario find love on and off the pitch. When their union is discovered by the rest of their team, things get complicated.

Here's the link to read more. They talk a little about the film, and there's trailer. I think it looks interesting. Jocks. Locker rooms. Footballers.

Don Lemon's Comments On Dangerous White Men

Don Lemon recently made a few strong racist comments, and there have been quite a few strong racist reactions.

Said Lemon: “The biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them. There is no travel ban on them. There is no ban on–you know, they had the Muslim ban. There is no white guy ban. So what do we do about that?”

You can check it out, here. I will warn you that it's difficult to read.

$10 Million Funding Toward Pulse Museum In Orlando

Here's a follow up to a story I linked to a while back about the Pulse Nightclub Massacre in 2016.

Commissioners in Orange County, Florida, have approved $10million (€8.8million) in funding towards a Pulse Museum and memorial. The project will commemorate the lives lost at LGBTI nightclub, Pulse, in June 2016.

You can read a lot more back story, here.   As of right now, until they build the actual memorial, there's an interim memorial that has been visited by over 41,000 people.

May the victims all rest in eternal peace.

Megyn Kelly's War On NBC; Anti-Gay Candidate's Kids Say Don't Vote For Him; Troye Sivan On Gay Conversion Therapy

Megyn Kelly's War On NBC

Here's one that's been making the news lately. I have no great love for Megyn Kelly, but I have no great love for NBC either. If they can do this to Kelly, they can do this to anyone. Big networks and film studios have been screwing people over for years, literally and figuratively.

Now, the Daily Mail claims those negotiations have turned into “all out war”, reporting that Kelly “is looking to get her $69M payout PLUS a $10M bonus in exit package” after she claims NBC “destroyed her career.”
Here's the rest. I hope they post follow ups.

Anti-Gay Candidate's Kids Say Don't Vote For Him

This kind of reminds me of the Reagan kids...the kids from his wife, Nancy. Although Reagan was never this bad.

Steve West is a racist, antigay, anti-Semitic, xenophobic Republican known for wearing wigs and fake beards and calling himself Jack Justice on YouTube. He’s also currently running for a seat in Missouri House District 15.
Now, as election day looms nearer, his two adult children are urging voters not to vote for their father.
Here's the link to read more. They give a few rough examples of what he says and does.
Troye Sivan On Gay Conversion Therapy
I don't think there's a gay man alive who would disagree with this, including me. Sivan talks about what it was like to come out, and how he might have reacted if someone had mentioned conversion therapy to him before he came out.
‘If I was 14 and somebody came to me and said, “Hey, that thing that you’re so worried about, that you’re losing sleep over, I can fix that. I can make it all okay and make it go away.” I think before I was the gay, strutting boy that I am now, I think I would have said yes. I think I would have gone.’
Here's the link. I'm starting to really like him more and more. He talks about things that really get to the heart of the matter.
