As far as I know, Justin Trudeau is the only high profile leader in any country who ever apologized to LGBT people for how they've been treated in the past. Most high profile leaders claim they have evolved, but no one ever apologized for anything that's been done to us. I found that apology not only gracious of Trudeau, but genuine as well. After all, we've been beaten, we've been mocked. We've been locked up as insane and put on trial as criminals. We've suffered abuse, they've mocked us, and they've even tried to change us with reparation therapy. They've appropriated us at times, they've treated us as if we're pet poodles, and stolen our culture for movies and books. In some cases they've even raped us and shamed us. And that's just to name a few things. I hate to sound pushy, but I think an apology of some sort is the least they can do.
