It still absolutely sickens me that a movie like Call Me By Your Name would garner such praise as a gay love story during a time when we're exposing sexual predators. #MeToo
It stuns me that so many gay men don't think there's anything wrong with a barely legal 17 year old boy...just a boy...in a sexual relationship with a 24 year old man (played by a 34 year old straight man).
So, this dismal news from Tennessee leaves me shaking my head in disgust.
Tennessee lawmakers have decided against changing the state’s marriage laws to outlaw child marriage, because the head of the “family values” group Family Action Council of Tennessee – wants to sue to try to overturn marriage equality.
The bill, sponsored by Democrats in both chambers of the state legislature, would raise the age for marriage to 18. A current loophole allows a judge to grant a marriage license to a minor no matter how young they are.
Here's the rest.
Call Me By Your Name Parody Trailer
I find this about as funny as Tennessee's creepy marriage laws.
The trailer is the work of Malcolm Edits, who explains: “Call Me By Your Name was probably my favorite movie this year, and as a gay guy, I kept thinking about how much I wish we’d had a movie like it when I was growing up. But then I realized that it’s probably better that it wasn’t made back then.”
I just hope my openly gay nieces and nephews don't think this is normal behavior for gay kids. I'll have to straighten them out fast if they do think it's normal. I want them to go to their proms with other gay kids, not screw around with peaches and a guy as old as Armie Hammer.
Here's the rest, with the trailer.
Scouts Ask Football Player Loaded Gay Question
I have a feeling this kind of thing, with scouts asking these personal questions, has been going on for a long time.
‘I go in one room, and a team will ask me do I like men, just to see my reaction. I go in another room, they’ll try to bring up one of my family members or something and tell me, “Hey, I heard your mom sells herself. How do you feel about that?”
Here's more. The NFL is doing damage control now and calling these questions "inappropriate."
