There's a video series called Out of Touch that's trying to battle LGBT-phobic bullying of all kinds. Some of the stories could break your heart.
In the first episode we hear from a trans teen who describes how ‘badly’ their mom took the news after they came out as trans. At first she ignored them and then started being really ‘nasty’ and bullying them. ‘It surprised me. How could someone be that cruel to their own child?’ they say.

Anti-Gay Marriage Oregon Baker Shutters Business
Back in 2013 this bakery in Oregon received a lot of press because it refused to bake a wedding cake for a gay wedding based on the owners' Christian beliefs. I did a few posts about this topic in general. The two gay women who were getting married took the bakers to court and the judge ruled in favor of the women and the bakers had to pay the two women $135,000.
While all this was going on, the Christian couple started crowd-funding pages and raised quite a bit of money on Go Fund Me and Continue To Give.
And now this follow up...
They closed their store in August 2013, but continued to take orders from home, but their attorney has said they are now not operating their business at all.
The Kleins legal representation is the First Liberty Institute, which has handled several high-profile religious-based discrimination cases.
‘The Kleins closed their business months ago and simply now updated their page to reflect that,’ said First Liberty Institute attorney Hiram Sasser to Patriot Post.
I think it's interesting to see the follow up stories and how people like this who were so anti-gay marriage will go down in history.

Trans Teen Kills Himself After Nurses Kept Calling Him A Girl
This one is really disturbing. A 14 year old trans teen who was on suicide watch killed himself after hospital employees allegedly continued to call him a girl.
In the weeks before his death, the Southern California teen was admitted to Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego, in the youth’s psychiatry unit for a 72 hour suicide hold.
But when he was held there, hospital employees kept referring to Kyler as a girl ‘he went into a spiral’.
‘He was frantic,’ his mother Katherine Prescott said. ‘They were making him worse. They were completely traumatizing him.
You can read more about this one here. I can only add that I've always had excellent experiences in hospitals with most nurses. In fact, I've depended more on the support of nurses than doctors. But I've also run across a few nurses that I've had to "deal with" in a very aggressive way.
