Philippines Wants To Ban Madonna

I'm linking to Gay Star News today, but don't get used to it. They've done something to the web site that makes it virtually impossible to open it in most browsers. I hope they know, especially if they've been losing readers lately. It used to be such an easy site to navigate, and now it takes forever to click one of their links.

In any event, Madonna is at it again. She's getting feisty as she matures into advanced stage womanhood. How's that for being politically correct.

You're welcome.

But even when she’s doing this, the domestic broadcaster has slammed Madonna for ‘disrespecting the flag’.
Did she burn it? Did she defile it some way?
Nope. She wore a costume inspired by the flag, and also waved one during the finale. When she did, she allowed it to touch the stage floor.

You can read the rest here.

I have a rule about things like this. If you want respect, you respect the customs of others when you are a visitor in their country. That's pretty simple...unless, of course, you're an aging, spoiled diva who needs huge attention.

Sam Smith Quits Twitter After Spat With Dustin Lance Black

I totally missed this one. Sam Smith got into a Twitter snit with Black, in public.

And now Smith's quitting Twitter, because who doesn't do that when they can't win Twitter.

Smith dedicated his Oscar for Best Original Song to the LGBTI community Sunday, but mistakenly claimed to be the first openly gay man to win an Academy Award.
But Black – who won an Oscar for Milk in 2009 – called the singer out on for texting his fiancĂ©, Olympic swimmer Tom Daley:
‘Hey @SamSmithWorld, if you have no idea who I am, it may be time to stop texting my fiancĂ©. Here’s a start,’ he tweeted, along with a video of his Oscars acceptance speech.

Someone's full of crap here, but I'm honestly not sure who it is just yet.

In any event, you have to wonder, though.

More Sam Smith

I don't know much about Sam Smith other than I like his music. I didn't watch the Oscars because I think they are more boring than a trip to the eye doctor.

Evidently, Sam Smith didn't like his own performance at the Oscars, and he's been dealing with fallout because of his acceptance speech.

Many have criticized Smith on his acceptance speech where he appeared to claim that no openly gay person had ever won an Oscar. Previous openly LGBTI winners include Elton John, Stephen Sondheim, Melissa Etheridge and Dustin Lance Black.
‘I read an article that said no openly gay man had ever won an Oscar, and if this is the case, I want to dedicate this to the LGBT community all around the world,’ Smith said when he accepted the prize.

I kind of feel bad for him because he's young. What does he know about life?

But there is this thing called Google. I think even Madonna knows THAT.  You can read this here.
