Recently, there was a hashtag trending on Twitter called LGBT FANS DESERVE BETTER. It surfaced in rebellion to a gay character that was killed off on a popular TV show titled, The 100.
I've never seen the show, however, I found this interesting because it's what I've been harping about endlessly here on this blog for the past seven or eight years. We never get a happy ending. And that's a stereotype.
Fans accused the programme makers of regressing to an earlier era in entertainment, when a gay character's sexuality often guaranteed they would come to a tragic end on the screen.
Someone tweeted this:
LGBT fans deserve better because after some time it starts being hard to see ourselves die/never get a happy ending.
When I wrote my own tweet about the character of Barrow on Downton Abbey, and how I thought they could have given him a happier ending, I wound up in a discussion with a gay man I know who didn't seem to agree with me completely. His argument was that in that time period, when Downton Abbey took place, the character of Barrow would have been treated even worse. And he's absolutely right about that. However, my argument was that Downton Abbey is fiction. It's not real. They gave ridiculously fictional happy endings to everyone left in the cast except for gay Barrow. And frankly, I'm surprised they didn't just let him die in the tub.
You can read more about the hashtag here. I'm just glad this time it was someone else bringing the discussion up.
Gay LA Cop Alleged Assault Husband
The guy who claims he's the first openly gay cop in LA was arrested for alleged assault with a deadly weapon...against his own husband.
57-year-old Mitchell Grobeson was arrested late last week after allegedly pointing a handgun at his husband and ordering him to leave their West Hollywood residence. The husband then called the police, leading to a multi-hour standoff between the officers and Grobeson, who later surrendered.
You can read the rest of this here. It gets into all the lawsuits this cop has filed over the years.
Bernie Sanders Gay Erotic Fan Fic
Of course this is meant to be taken with a smile. If you don't have a sense of humor, you should probably stop reading this here. It's not my favorite kind of erotica, but a lot of people seem to find it amusing and I don't really see anything wrong with it.
Right before my very eyes was the hard, throbbing penis of the future leader of the free world.
“Oh, Senator,” I whispered as tears of joy came to my eyes.
“I know what you’re thinking. Yes, yes. It’s completely average. I don’t have any more than your average hard-working American taxpaying man,” he said with a wink. “But I certainly don’t have any less.”
You can check this out right here.
Evidently, there's more erotic fan fic out there about other candidates. I just hope and pray some lucky character in this fan fic got to actually "Feel the Bern."
