I've always been curious about how social media sites like facebook actually do make money. I know it's through advertising. But I often wonder whether or not that kind of advertising works. I've never clicked a facebook ad in my life, and do not intend to click one either. Most of the people I know who use facebook have never clicked on a facebook ad.
So there must be people clicking these ads somewhere, otherwise facebook wouldn't be worth so much money.
But could there be a glitch in this, as with all other social media? Here's a link to an article where General Motors has decided to pull all ads from facebook because they aren't seeing results.
Of course this could be an isolated event. But I remember the dot com bubble bursting back in the day. I know people who lost a lot of money. And it makes me wonder about all social media, not just facebook.
